She will present “Behind the Scenes at the South Dakota Art Museum” sharing an insider’s view of the collections, exhibitions and programs serving the peoples and communities of South Dakota and its visitors as the state’s premier visual arts resource. 

In 2025, over 20,000 people participated in 218 Art Museum programs and events. Exhibitions, events and outreach programs served over 55,000 individuals, fulfilling the museum’s mission to inspire creativity, connect people, and enrich lives through art. 

In this presentation, Donna will provide a snapshot of the Museum at this moment: its current programs, recent achievements, and the opportunities emerging in the years ahead.

10:00 a.m. - Donna Merkt | Behind the Scenes at South Dakota Art Museum

Guild membership is encouraged but not required to attend monthly programs. Dues of $30 per year support Guild programs and contribute to the Museum’s Art Acquisition Fund.
